Why we built it this way

FlyingWith started with a simple frustration: almost every travel site asks "where are you going?" — but almost none ask "who are you going with?" or "what do you actually need?"

The idea came from watching a friend spend hours calling airlines to figure out how to fly with a wheelchair, only to get contradictory answers depending on who picked up the phone. That shouldn't be this hard. The information exists — it's just scattered across a hundred different airline policy pages, forum threads, and outdated blog posts.

Searching by destination assumes everyone flying to the same city needs the same thing. But flying to Paris with a newborn is a completely different trip than flying to Paris solo for a long weekend — different seats, a different packing list, different questions at the airport. So FlyingWith is organized the other way around: tell us who you're flying with, and we build the trip around that.

FlyingWith isn't a booking engine (yet) or a travel agency. It's a guide, first — real, practical information for a specific kind of trip, with clearly labelled links to booking partners when you're ready to book. We keep FlyingWith running through small affiliate commissions on some of those booking links, at no extra cost to you — full details are in our Privacy Policy.

We're just getting started, and we'd rather build slowly and get the details right than rush out generic content. If there's a travel situation you wish someone had written an honest guide for, we'd love to hear about it.
