Before you measure

  1. Use the right allowance

    Find the dimensions for the bag type, fare and operating airline on your booking. A cabin bag and a personal item can have different allowances. Use this comparison when separate height, width and depth limits are given.

  2. Measure the packed bag

    Measure the outside of the bag as you plan to carry it, including anything that sticks out. Check the airline’s instructions for handles, wheels and pockets. Keep the same orientation for both sets of dimensions.

  3. Check the other conditions

    A size comparison does not check weight, the number of items, your fare entitlement or space on the aircraft. Confirm those with the airline and keep essentials accessible if you are asked to check the bag.

What this result means

The comparison uses the numbers you enter, with an exact centimetre–inch conversion. It does not look up airline rules, rearrange the sides or predict a bag-sizer check. If your allowance gives only a combined size, use that rule directly. This is not a pet-carrier or animal-fit assessment.
