Airalo and Yesim both ask you to check device compatibility. Yesim’s guidance also distinguishes model variants and purchase regions. Confirm that your phone is supported and network-unlocked using the provider’s current instructions; a familiar model name alone is not enough.

Compare the same trip, not just the headline price
List every country you need covered, the number of days you need data and what you use it for. Compare the total cost of plans that meet that list. Check the data allowance, any speed restrictions, hotspot use and the cost or availability of a top-up.
Read whether calls and SMS are included. Think separately about receiving important messages on your usual number, and check your home carrier’s roaming terms before leaving that line enabled. Do not assume a data plan replaces every feature of your usual service.

Prepare a simple arrival backup
Save your accommodation address, pickup instructions and a map for offline use. Write down the provider’s support route and your order reference somewhere you can reach without mobile data. Check how refund and cancellation terms apply to your purchase.
If the connection fails, work through the provider’s troubleshooting steps. Avoid deleting the eSIM as a first response unless the provider tells you to; first check what its reinstall process permits.
